This is one of 6 paintings in my “Wanderlust Series 2021”. They each dedicated to the 2 1/2 year trip that my wife and I took around the world. We sold our house, furniture and cars in January of 2018 and then traveled full time until June of 2020. We visited 72 different countries, 250 cities, stayed in 128 different accommodations and traveled 130,000 miles before having to cut our trip short due to the pandemic.
On our epic adventure, we went to the Pyramids, saw the Big 5 on safari in Africa, gazed at the stars in New Zealand, took a hot air balloon ride in Turkey and skydived in Fiji. We hiked the great wall in China, paraglided off the Madeira cliffs and repelled waterfalls in Costa Rica. We visited Hiroshima, Pearl Harbor, Auschwitz, the Berlin Wall, Iguazu Falls, Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu. We cruised around Cape Horn, went on a street food tour in India and dove in a shark tank in Oahu. These are just a few of the highlights! My wife and I have now been to over 100 countries and look forward to resuming our travels post pandemic.
Dark Sky Reserve - On the South Island of New Zealand, we visited a reserve that was established to protect the viewing of the stars and planets. What an incredible view of space! I never felt so small. 4 of 6 in Wanderlust Series 2021.
