FLORIDA - Palmetto, Florida artist Garry Scott Wheeler’s original artwork has been on a fast trajectory over the last year and his work will be featured in an art gallery show in Milan, Italy from January 22nd to February 5th of 2021. The show is a global exhibition promoted by M.A.D.S. (Art Mediator, Adviser, Dealer & Seeker), a contemporary art gallery located in one of the main Milan art districts.
Mr. Wheeler was thrilled to be selected for this honor and for the opportunity to showcase his art to an international audience. He is an award winning abstract acrylic artist, author and entrepreneur from the Gulf Coast of Florida known for his dynamic and colorful abstract paintings. The heart and soul of his paintings emanates from vividly seeing colors and shapes in his daily life and from his adventurous travels to over 100 different countries.
The unique and whimsical artistic style and talent of Mr. Wheeler caught the attention of art curator Elita Borgogelli of the M.A.D.S. Gallery who admired his work and thought it would be a perfect fit with their upcoming “Kromatic@rt” gallery show. This exhibition aims to enter into a journey of images and to involve the viewer into the dense colors and be moved by the soul of the artists, who choose to use the visual element of color in its completeness as the creative force of their work.
In her review of Mr. Wheeler’s art for their gallery show, Ms. Borgogelli stated that “The chromatic combination that we find in his works, brings out their expressiveness. For his work, Wheeler paints in an abstract way shapes and animals, seen in dreams, all enriched by the use of vivid colors. A mosaic of forms is created, releasing energy and strength and reflecting the artist’s subconsciousness. The position of colors and lines convey a sense of balance to the work. The images of dreams through painting flow into abstraction, visualizing the creative force of his works in color.”
Mr. Wheeler’s art is currently on display at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association “Beyond Boundaries” exhibit from 1/11 to 2/11, where one of his paintings was awarded the Lee Ackert Memorial Award for Use of Color by Rangsook Yoon, Director of Curatorial Affairs at The Baker Museum. Mr. Wheeler’s works will also be exhibited at the Art Center Sarasota “Staying Connected” exhibit from 1/28 to 3/5 and the Fort Myers Beach Association “Freedom to Move” exhibit from 2/15 to 3/11. He looks forward to, and welcomes, the opportunity of showcasing his artwork at additional galleries and shows. His website, which includes his online gallery, storefront and contact information, can be found at www.gswheeler.com.
